First Responder Animal Handling Workshops

We offer training courses taught by licensed veterinarians and veterinary technicians to first responders of any discipline on basic animal handling and behavior.

Understanding animal behavior and handling techniques allows for safer and more confident interactions between animals and the people trying to help.

This includes recognizing and handling painful animals, muzzling and safety techniques, and basic restraining.

Veterinary Support for At-Risk Communities

Teaming up with other partner organizations, FRVMRC teams are available for veterinary support during smaller sheltering events.

This can include local warming shelters, temporary sheltering events, or other sheltering situations.

Services vary but can include:

  • Biosecurity management

  • Vaccination

  • Basic veterinary care
